Twenty years ago -- almost to the month -- I started volunteering with political and social movements for the first time, at the age of 22. I was angry over the U.S. invasion of Iraq, which sprouted into attendance at local Green Party meetings, followed by involvement with Howard Dean's ascendant presidential campaign.
Our campaign for affordable housing throughout Montgomery County needs your help to continue growing and working toward solutions. There are plenty of ways to get involved and all of them are flexible based on your availability and other commitments.

Help at cleanup (Norristown) and shelter (Upper Darby) volunteer events
Join an upcoming text/phone bank
Attendance and participation at public meetings
Membership in a local Working Group to advocate for housing solutions

Additionally, the Norristown Hospitality Center is seeking volunteers to help with serving breakfast. They currently need volunteers on Mondays and on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Thursdays. On a daily basis, 70 to 90 individuals rely on the Hospitality Center for a warm, balanced breakfast. Please email volunteer@hospitalitycenter.org for more information.
