EDITED: Thursday's Lower Providence Zoning Hearing Board meeting related to Genny's Place has been canceled.
The Montgomery County Commissioners are beginning to hold evening public meetings, opening an opportunity for participation that was not available for many during past administrations.
If you have ever attended or watched a live streamed commissioners meeting, you know that they begin at 10 a.m. during the work week. Obviously, this poses a challenge for many people, given work schedules. But on Thursday, May 23, the board responsible for health, human services, housing, and community development at the county level is meeting in Limerick Township from 6 to 8 p.m.
Also of note later this month, a regional planning group is seeking public input on housing for its comprehensive plan update. The Central Perkiomen Valley Regional Planning Commission meets at Collegeville Borough Hall on Monday, May 20 at 7 p.m.
The CPVRPC is composed of representatives from local municipal governments, including Lower Frederick, Upper Frederick, Trappe, Collegeville, Perkiomen, and Schwenksville. At their March meeting, Eric Jarrell of the Montgomery County Planning Commission said an affordability analysis will be part of the group’s update.
It appears that the citizens of LP do not want this facility in their neighborhood. Maybe RHD should look for a community that would like to have their facility in their neighborhood. It just seems like common sense.
