Municipal budgets are documents that express our collective will and values.
Over the coming weeks, Montgomery County residents will have a few opportunities for input to ensure that our tax dollars are spent in ways that reflect those values of inclusivity, affordability, and access for all income levels.

Upcoming Dates:
Monday, Nov. 25 at noon – The final Norristown Council 2025 budget hearing will be held at council chambers. The town faces a budget gap of $855,000, which may necessitate a tax increase of 1 mill (or $1 for every $1,000 in assessed property value).
It should be noted that Norristown Council is seeking applicants to replace Tiffani Hendley, who recently resigned following a probation sentence in an elder fraud case. Applications are due by 3 p.m. Dec. 6.
Thursday, Dec. 5, 7 p.m. – The Pottstown Metropolitan Regional Planning Committee will hold a public meeting to discuss and analyze housing trends and issues within the municipalities of Pottstown Borough, East Coventry, North Coventry, Lower Pottsgrove, West Pottsgrove, Upper Pottsgrove, New Hanover, and Douglass townships. The PMRPC, formed in 2005 to better manage growth, is in the midst of updating its comprehensive plan. Meetings are held inside Pottstown Borough Hall (room behind council chambers).
Thursday, Dec. 12 - Montgomery County budget hearings, 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., will be held at One Montgomery Plaza in Norristown and online. Input and feedback are encouraged on the 2025 spending plan for our county, which is responsible for human services, community development, emergency shelters, public health, and much more. Participation is offered both in-person and virtually. Please note the instructions for public comment if you attend the virtual meeting. Register for the morning session here and the evening session here.
